Rimpley Wedding Recap – Windsong Estate Fort Collins

  |   weddings

From our initial meeting, we knew this was going to be a fun wedding! This past weekend, we had the pleasure of providing DJ, sound and lighting for Erik and Yanely’s wedding reception.

The wedding was held at the beautiful Windsong Estate event center in Fort Collins. We’ve provided services for events at Windsong before, so we were familiar with the layout. We arrived about 2 hours before start-time, and had plenty of time to get everything in order.

Erik and Yanely’s wedding was a semi-traditional Mexican wedding, so we had a few traditional activities like the Padrino waltz, and the crowd favorite, La Vibora Del Mar.

In the La Vibora Del Mar tradition, the bride and groom stand on separate chairs and make an arch with a piece of fabric, wedding dress vail, or by holding hands. Two people hold on to the bride and groom to keep them from falling. Music is then played, and guests run under the arch between the bride and groom, as well as throughout the venue and between tables. This is typically done during the garter and bouquet toss, so single ladies and single men take turns. You’ll see an example in the recap video below.

Since Yanely’s family is primarily Spanish-speaking, we made announcements both in English and Spanish. It was also requested that we play a lot of Spanish favorites, like cumbias, norteñas, and other similar genres.

Everything went great as far as formalities, and once the dance floor opened up, it was packed the whole night!

We had a great time DJing for the Rimpley wedding, and everyone had a great time! We put together a quick recap video of the wedding, check it out below.
